One of the core departments, the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry supports the academic requirements for
students pursuing a four year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Semester Pattern) course of the Mumbai University.
The teachers of the department have expertise in various areas of research such as Medicinal chemistry,
Synthetic chemistry, Molecular modeling and Pharmaceutical analysis.
The department has three well-equipped laboratories which include Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry
and Pharmaceutical Analysis laboratory. Each laboratory has a separate preparation area and fuming hood (chemistry lab).
Eye showers, first aid boxes and fire-fighting equipment are provided which ensure a hazard-free working environment for the students and faculty.
Apart from this, a Centralized Instrumentation room equipped with several sophisticated instruments like UV-Visible spectrophotometer,
Colorimeter, Spectrofluorimeter, Flame photometer, Potentiometer, Conductometer and Microwave synthesizer is available for conducting
curriculum and research-based experiments.
